I bought my son a Joysway USB Slot Car Track and for about 10 minutes the cars run well. But then they tend to tinker out. I have it plugged into my laptop that's also plugged in as well as using a phone USB charger.

Someone mentioned using a super USB charger or possibly converting it to a different power supply.

Any suggestions?

Yeah, the Amazon listing specifies a 5V 2A power source, which most USB ports and phone chargers are not. You'll need a "fast charger" type phone charger, or one intended for tablets and similar high power consumption devices. In fact, using anything that's not capable of 2A output will likely shorten the life of whatever you're using. Any of these should be suitable:
