Just got back from my local B&Q where I found a nfty looking power tool. It's in their own brand Pro range, and is called a 701w Rotary trim cutter. Currently on offer at £19.99. It comes in the biggest box imaginable!! And also comes with a large number of accessories.
I was allowed to buy one on the condition that I finally clean the large pile of classic track I've got and stick it on ebay!
