Hello everyone
I bought a Carrera Go Disney 1/43 scale track for my 4 year old son. I am a race car driver for a hobby of mine and I would like to get my son involved in something because he loves cars so much. The problem is that I know nothing about slot cars so I goggled it and this is the sight it lead me to. I am looking for info. I would like to set the track up on a 5x8 table I will make out of a sheet of ply wood. I would like to make the track bigger than what came in the box were is a good place to get track and is all 1/43 track the same? Also I would love to build some cars with him I wouldn't mined buying a body but putting every thing else together would be good for him to learn. Remember all I know is what I have looked at on this sight so go easy on me if you could. I see some car that look like the peg on the bottom moves with the track and even might make the front tires move. I live in the middle of no were in Nebraska the closes place I could drive to get parts is going to be 2 hours away so a good online store would be great also.
As for the track wright now it has a loop and lightning McQueen I think is more top heavy so he has problems going around the corners compared to Francisco. Is there any thing I can do to help this. Also this is the only track I have wright now and I also have a 8 month old boy that some day will like to play with it also so before I get to involved should I switch track sizes or not?
Also when I was a kid they had a thin copper strip with a spring on the bottom of the cars know it is 4 pieces of copper wire sticking out and it looks like it kind of picks the cars up on the front is that what it is suppost to do?
Thank you for the help i am shure i will have many more questions, but it will be worth it to spent the time with my boys.

That was HO and my kids had that scale from '75 to '85.
I have been in 1/43d since 2004, and it is the scale for home use. The top heavy car effect is caused by many things.
