Just added this lovely old 1/43 scale Dinky Commer Fire Engine (cat 955) from 1961 to the Jouef layout.
Adds a nice splash of colour to proceedings!
Cheers,
Kev.

Hello Kev,
Wow - that is exactly what a Fire Engine should look like :- )
Have never seen one of those Corgi VWs with the winch on the back BTW.

Kind regards, Leo

Hello loosesalute,

When I was a small boy in the late sixties, my Dad was a retained Fireman in Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire. They had a Commer just like that. I had many rides in it - even one when it had a punture !

Thanks for the memory
.

Cheers,

Thanks Leo,
The old die-casts have something about them.
The old VW tow truck would have been part of a Corgi gift set when new. Mine is very play worn which makes it look like an old truck...I only paid a couple of quid for it!

Happy days indeed PTR6...must have been great for a little boy riding on a fire engine!
Cheers,
Kev.
