Hi guys,

I'm looking if someone has a NSR Ford P68, in the Alan Mann colours. Either '1059', the #9 Spa '68 car, or the '1046' the #7 Nurburgring '68 car, I'm not fussed. The car needs to be intact, and in good condition. I want to see if anyone has a well priced car on offer, before I pay RRP or near at a shop.

I am currently painting a NSR P68, as raced in the 1968 BOAC Brands Hatch 500 race, using the white kit for the Presto Classic race on October 2nd, however with my other builds, time is tight, so I need a back up incase I don't finish.

Regards
Jon

Jon,

Read the reg's mate. The Presto Classic this year is for post 68 cars that competed at Le Mans and the P68 did not race there.

You may recall I won this race last year with the Brands Hatch P68 but it is not legible for this years class, so I have had to build an alternative car too.

Hi Jim, and Bill,

I seem to remember seeing a picture of it testing at LM in 1968? Of course, I am probably wrong! Does this mean the livery has to have been raced at LM too?

Bill - All tidy now!

Hi guys. There seem some confusion over the classes for my forthcoming Classic Races on October 2nd. Before you build a car PLEASE refer to the CSCRA site for the each class regs. Basically they are simple and as follows:-

SPORTS/GT CARS FROM 1968 TO 1981(CLASSES 5 & 7)
3 AND 5 LITRE CARS THAT RACED AT LEMANS AND IN THE IMSA GT SERIES.
CAN AM CARS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE AS THEY ARE IN CLASS 6.

SALOON/TOURING CARS 1970 TO 1981 (CLASS4a)
OVER TWO LITRE INCLUDING GROUP 2 CARS.
EXCLUDES GROUP 5 CARS OF 1977 TO 1981

All cars will be scrutineered by JK and proof of eligibility will be required if contested by him. This way a level playing field will be adopted.

I hope this clarifies the situation for everyone. Thanks. Mike

This does nit effect me in any way but just wanted to say.

If those are simple rules my head would explode at the full on rules, I love my cars but would not know where to start selecting one from those listings. I'll stick to "must be. Ferrari f40" rule lol

Jon, Jim,
Whether the P68 is allowed to race or not is obviously Mike's call.
I would, however, be interested to see how either of you could make it comply with the CSCRA 1.5mm ground clearance rule without making it look as though it's trying to take off.
It may be worth reminding anyone planning on racing an NSR or Slot.It car that they must have 1.5mm ground clearance under the entire length of the car.
See you there.
Cheers.
Mick.
