Hi all, and endless thanks to all the fantastic and creative people in the forum.

Well I've desided to start build a sectional permanent track that can be packed away even though it will contain different landscaping.

Actually I set out to build a small test track so that I could clean up and fine tune all my cars that have been in the chicken shed all summer.
But I ended up with this:

After a litle playing around I thought that it would be an allright track to build as a permanent track.
And I started playing around and planning the different sections:

I used some time finetuning the TwistyCurbyHumpSection:

I still han't got a good idea as to how I'm gonna support this TwistyCurbyHumpSection, so any ideas are welcome.

And out of the twistyCurbyHumpSection:

And into Section 3:

The cars used for elevation supports are some of the cars that should have been cleaned and here is another one:

I did a small video while adjusting the different pieces of track
Fly Lancia no-magnet speed controller in the left hand cammera in the right hand:

Sector1 Back:

Sector1 Latch:

Sector 1 and 2:

Sector 1 Storage compartment:

Placing of initial elevations

The Goodwood Pass:

First Test drive:

Aston Coming down:

Cop At the turn Around at the mountain top:

The front of the two sections will contain landscaping and track aswell and so will the top and bottom pieces for section 2
I've got quite a few ideas for this so I hope I'll be able to maintain focus and tuck along with all this track building stuff.

So please tell me what you all think.

Cheers.....&

Humble thanks for watching Leonardo.

Here is another construction that I'm working on, which hopefull will be easier than my previous post :)

It's another tunnel but this one will be a concrete style bridge:
nothing is glued as of yet so mind the wobly construction and broken lines:) I need to paint the different pieces away from here.

For marshalling under a race I'll have to construct it in two seperate parts.: with the roof supports removeable
the backwall and the front concrete "Fencing"

and comming out of the tunnel:

The tunnel supports are gonna be of the "H" type concrete thingies(Don't know the proper terms here)

the other side I'm gonna shorten the Height of the support pillars here:

And finnally drivers view without the support construction:(Which allows for fast marshal access in case of emergency:

The back wall is gonna be one removeable piece and I would like to add some lights to it as well but what would lights in a tunnel look like ?
allso inbetween the roof supports I plan to mount some net for falling rocks you know :)

ohh the pillars are glued stirring sticks from the place where you buy paint(Free), and elsewhere. I usually grab a handfull whenever i pass by one of these shops, just tell them that you forgot to get them yesterday :)

Hope it's of some use to someone & and until next time Have a nice day.

thx, very much r3ko, they are all very easy to do.

Well this week-end nut much happended and then again a litle did ????

Well on saturday me and my son went to buy the last sheet of MDF that we need for this first stage of the project, but came home with this:

50 GBP for a horn and a hard plastic suitcase!!! thats crazy, but why they had them at the place where I buy my MDF I don't know, but we had a blast and made alot of noise(They allso had a drumkit and some bongos) :)

And then we had to build his playhouse aswell, so time flew but I did get to relay the bricks for my Nightmare, and for a short while I was contemplating whether to leave them white for a "painted on billboard" for Pink Floyd's 1979 album "the Wall" :)

Allso my son came up with this car and we had a solid laugh about it, and driving the "HomerMobil" around the track.

I guess that time flies and aeroplanes crashes, hope to have more work done during the week, until then

Have a big one on me.

If you don't I will!

(didn't they use trumpets to blow down the walls of Jericho? ...better be careful with that thing!
)

...love it!

@ Count, please go ahead and use, theres a lot of cover art that whould be great in and around a slottrack.

I know that you like Zeppelin, so how about incorporating the Physical Graffiti cover :).

Stones "Sticky Fingers" as a billboard With a real Zipper would allso be nice.

And this one from Roger Waters could be part of a backdrop :)

always looking forward to further updates on the monster beneath the pretty litle house.

Cheers.

a quick update on the "Return of the Nightmare Bricks"

Basically painted with ratlecans, and touched up a little, with some waterbased colors and a sponge.

It still needs a little weathering to make it more dusty, and less wet.
and some cracks to make it look more dangerous :)

at the moment I'm pretty frustrated with my imagination being far more vivid than my current ability and patience to create the inner visions with my hands :-(
thx,

Uh .. I like the wall! .. "the Wall" [and almost anything by mr. R. Waters, Thank You Very Much! .. and so on and so forth] ..

But hey, you're lucky you don't live in China ..

Cardboard bricks, you say .. hmm now .. uh-ah .. time for my medication! Gotta run ........

Hey Guys,

That is the most realistic wall I've seen since last time I saw a real wall !!??.

Nice one.

vbr Chris.
@Nigel thanks alot I'm glad you like it, could you please give me a simple explanation of the word "abundance" ?

Abundance is mainly a state of mind - instead of focusing on how not to fail or hoping to succeed - it is focusing on how to succeed

Success of course has many meanings to different people

I would suggest that success in Health is a great start or foundation as that gives the energy for other areas such as Emotional, Spiritual and Financial success

Hi all, if each post had headlines, this one would be Another Brick In The Wall Pt2
I pretty much finished the brick work for the right side of my brick bridge.

Here it is from the outside:

And from the inside:

the inside close up:
I'm gonna have spectators standing on these

hope you enjoyed, more images coming soon

Wow, brilliant!

I've been wondering how to face my viaduct as I didn't want to use Styrofoam yet again. I really wanted brickwork but don't fancy the commercial sheets as it's hard to do the keystones in the arches. Slicing up cardboard into bricks with a guillotine is the answer. Perfect! Many thanks.
@ Graham - thats gonna be a monstrous task(how many arches are in that thing ?), a bit tedious but easier than using the dremmel I think.
Like you say using a guillotine to make the bricks is fast and not a problem. I did all my bricks by hand so they vary in size

Another way of doing it is like this.
I'm working on the piece for the arch(the roof Under the bridge) and I'm using a thin piece of undercut mdf, so thats actual all the horizontal lines(for free:)), then I only have to make the vertical brick dividers(sharp chisel), if you understand me. otherwise I'll do some images if you like?

As always comments and suggestions are being appreciated

thanks all for watching, and see ya at the next ELDORADO

Chuppy Dub
Hey PSRRFH, great job on the bricks!
I think you are transferring the thoughts in your head just fine!!!

Keep the pics coming.

Dick
Hello there!

It seems that you´ve been making quite a good progress with the scenery. Those brick walls look great! Though it doesn´t look quite clear to me how did you bend the wood for that round wall. Did you simply bend it. just like that?
Now a suggestion. You were thinking about adding some weathering and dust on the bricks, how about spreading some glue on the cracks and then you should sprinckle some green grass flocks or lichens on some cornes to simulate the weeds growing between the bricks, it would give the walls a nice toutch i believe.

keep it up!!

Very cool track...can't say I was big on the rally tracks but after watching the video on the previous page I can sure see the skill involved in driving yor track.....and it appears to me to be a very realistic track with accurate rally racing attributes ... as much as I know about rally ... awesome stuff!

Hi Lars Ole

Did you take a brick-laying course...!?!?

You have a lot of patience to manage to achieve what you have done with your "Bricks in the Wall" parts 1 and 2, interesting technique.

I took photos of some buildings in Cyprus last week, as inspiration for some of my trackside scenery and your thread has given me a few clues as to how I might approach certain things. And so has Graham's, and Bill's, and Per's etc.

It's also given me the urge to finish my test track and have a bit of fun (and make some mistakes along the way) in trying to build some scenery for the first time.

Keep up the good work, I'm sure you will...!

Cheers

@ Knoath, thx you're too kind, how is it going with the track for the kid ? and your own ? there seems to have been some radio silence lately ?

@ WildWild : Thanky it's all an experiment, I know nothing about rally or racing in general, I just like to relax a little with some slot racing in the evenings and the "Mutant in the Sofa" had the nice quality that the car is pretty much always within reach, and I'm mostly racing alone, so I'm just tying to build it so it can be packed away/protected and packed up to race in a matter of minutes. so it's gonna serve a lot of purposes I guess.

@ Cerante : thanks for the advice, I'll defenetly try to plant some weeds here and there, And do some cracks in the wall too, I'm contemplating building a secret door into a "Bat cave" so I need to be able to remove the bridge foundation to look in there.

The round walls are made of a "cardboard tube" cut in half
I went into a shop that do linoleum floors and the linoleum comes rolled around a big cardboard tube, fabrics also come on these, so I got it for free as they just throw them away.

@ Slotcarmann : thanks goes to you as well, it's my first time doing scenery, and I think it's gonna be a Love/hate affair being that I have a pretty short attention span :)
The bridge side has probably taken about 4 hrs to do all in all, as far as mistakes goes I think they are gonna be mandatory, for instance I never seemed to notice that bridges are build horizontal as opposed to mine that starts at a lower point and goes up. furthermore the road it passes is not symmetrically in the middle so It'll probably turn out a little goofy, but thats just gonna be part of my "fantasy south of the border in the jungle banana republic rally track" I guess, and I'll just tell a story about some brick workers being really drunk when they build that bridge many years ago :)

thx all for watching

@Graham, have you seen This >> .. I'm not sure if it's the right one, I may have another linky somewhere to a shop that also sells [real stone] cut-offs, cheap in bags, as well as this kind of material.

Might not come cheap, though. As you got a huge Roman Aqueduct there ..

EDIT. Found the right one -- This >>

Ah yes, PSRRFH .. cardboard tubes = Brilliant!

Ah, yes Ron, I've seen these. I like the challenge of making my own but it's certainly an option.

There are actually nine arches in my viaduct!

Ron

Thanks for that link to the shop that sells the miniature stone products. Very handy possibly for some of the brick / stone work I need for some of my buildings. Just about the right variety of colours, shapes and sizes, by the look of it!

Mixed with other methods of replicating stonework it could give just the right effect: see attached photo.
