The Cox Cheetah was always one of my favorite slot cars. I've never owned one, and probably never will judging by the prices on Ebay.

The next best thing is to build one, so this is the Bauer kit that I recently purchased from MRE.

Nice kit to build, and sits on a modified MRRC Cobra chassis.

There are several improvements that you can make, i.e. opening up the bonnet vents and fitting mesh, (thanks Davis for the link to 4D Modelshop),raising the motor block, and more importantly lowering the bodyshell by about a scale foot!.

It is a very heavy kit, (lots of whitemetal bits and pieces) so the lower you can get it the better it will stay on the track.

Regards

Alan

PS It does handle very well, and will keep station with my other Classic cars.

Ah that shape, purr...fect. I too always wanted the Cox Cheetah as a youngster but now have an... you guessed it, unbuilt Bauer Cheetah kit waiting in the project queue!

The model looks wonderful and I think and you've done a terrific job putting it all together Alan. I like the traditional Cox black Cheetah finish too - seems the way it should be!
