Could have sworn I'd seen a later thread about peoples work in progress, but the last post here was in '05!!. No matter, it was interesting to see this thread, lots of pictures gone sadly, but still loads in here. Wonder how many of these got done?

Just in case it takes me forever to complete these 3, thought I'd stick 'em in here, might spur me on to get 'em finished

'Fire Chief' Mustang from Carrera, standard chassis and running gear, Slot-it wheels and inserts. Some body mods still to be done. Will be painted orange with twin black stripes like a Geiger GT520.

Scalextric Mini Cooper S, PCS32 chassis, Slot-it gear, axles, wheels and inserts. This one's gonna be a 'works' version in metalic red with metalic black roof and twin bonnet stripes

Ford Torino Talladega NASCAR, PCS32 chassis, Slot-it gear and axles, MB slot wheels, and NSR tyres. I'm torn between a lime green 'BOSS 302 Mustang' look-a-like, or matt black with twin red stripes for this one....hmmmm
decisions decisions....

Come on guys, this is a great thread, don't let it die

They look good, Tom.

And an ideal oppurtunity to recreate the early laps of the first saloon race at Goodwood last weekend. They were pretty much like that - side by side - until the Ford's NSF suspension collapsed. Just need a couple of A35s snapping at their ankles for the full effect

Hi Mike,

Those cars look magnificent

I like you choice of wheels and there stance, can't wait for these to be finished.

Hi Tom,

Those look like some great 1:32 plastic friction cars...whats the brand name?
I never seen anything like it in 1:32 and from plastic, nice find.

will keep an eye on your progress too!

Good to see more posts

Love those 2 Tom, especially the Jag.

Cheers Jaak,
I'm trying hard not to start other cars and stick to these 3 'till they are done. Not easy as I've not done any cars for a while.

Come on Abie321. I'm no master car builder by any means, but I still like to show 'em here, even if they turn out looking like a pile of poo
Don't let the excellent work by others stop you showing yours.
Nesta, aka 68Caddy, aka 68Devillle
does some heavenly paint work on his cars, I'll probably never reach his skill level, but it ain't gonna stop me trying

Cheers,

Some nice looking projects going on here... I really like the DB3.
As for my cars, the Jaguar is made by Mak's, regularly seen on ebay, the Zephyr is a "Lincoln Replicar", not very common. They also did a convertible version and a Jaguar Mk1 as well. The Zephyr has an opening boot lid (trunk lid).
Cheers,
Tom

Torino is almost done

need to finish the interior and properly mount the body. This took a lot longer than I first thought, so much going on at home
The Mini is just about ready for paint, must try to get it done this weekend. It's turned out to be a right bugger of a body with mold lines and some sinking on the front. Funny how these don't show up until you strip the car and prime it .
Mustang will most likely have to be shelved for now , for the sake of marital harmony.

I'm thinking of doing the wheel centres matt black, your thoughts
might do 2 on one side to see what looks best. I do like these wheels very much, so am a bit reluctent to change the look of them.
Will need a running partner for this in the future, I'm thinking of another Carrera, most likely a Road Runner in matt white with a single broad black stripe across the top
Must try and get these cars done first, I have a tendency to end up with too many cars on the go at one time. Must be like a postage stamp, and stick to one thing 'till I get there

Back soon with the Mini, hopefully.
