Talk about bench... I need to replace this uneven, warped folding table with something that's flat for starters!! It served me well, but it's time to go. Priority #1 is to be a flat surface. Priority #2 is it must fold. Adding nice 1/2" hardwood finished plywood I don't think is the solve either. The struggle continues...

I then need to come up with some kind of holder for the tools that end up taking up all my space!

Why must it fold? I just dissassemble mine when I need to move it.

You can easily add a backing and shelves to a wood bench. This one measure 32" inches deep, by 7' feet wide. I have no trouble reaching to the back of the table.

One of the amusing things I like about this whole forum, apart from the underlying subject matter, obvs, are the gently admonishing sentences that begin, 'Oh, but you can easily... do x, y or zee'.

As you were.

For whats on my bench it’s more like what’s on what’s on my bench.
I was always like that but have started putting 'projects' in a box under the desk but as Rastas says, they get forgotten about. I now have a 'to do' book with details of what needs to be done to each project :geek:

that is a really good working setup. What do you have in the top two shelves (on top of the tamiya spray cans)?

Because my shop is in my garage that gets a yearly inspection where I have to have a car in it.
First pic has the track on its side and I'm starting to put it all away. Second pic shows what they want to see.

Today on my bench a couple more WIPs, a Zephyr that will hopefully be a Consul and a Magnum with aspirations.

Mark III (1975 to 1979)[edit]
Mark III (Third generation)
Overview
Hindustan Ambassador Mark III of M.G. Ramachandran.jpg
Production1975–1979
In 1975, the Mark 3 version was launched with another frontal facelift. The front grille had horizontal louvres giving it a modern feel and a round profile indicator lamp now isolated from the grille. At the rear a more modern looking number plate bezel replaced the early design which was commonly used by many other British cars as well. The interior now had a new dashboard with 3 standard instruments mounted on a black recessed mesh again moving away from the early coated wooden base with aluminium strip design. By 1978, the Mark 3 was available in its Standard and Deluxe versions. The Deluxe version had a newer dashboard with four meters plus the speedometer. Just before the launch of the Mark 4, the Mark 3s had their front windscreen wiper configuration changed, with a common direction sweep for both wipers. This configuration was prevalent in the new Ambassadors till the end. This has a short span of less than 3 years in production before being replaced with a Mark - IV model in 1977.

In 1977 and 1978, the Ambassador Mark 3 was available with a 1760 cc version of the Morris 1.5-litre inline-four, specifically to have enough power to propel a full air conditioning system. This option continued to be available as a Mark IV, but very few were sold and it was discontinued in 1979.

That’s a tidy work place, nothing like my table full of tires, tools all over and bottles of paint 😅

My work area on one end of the kitchen table is the usual mess that it's always been. It's likely to remain the same, too, at least until the damnable weather improves. Birds started twittering at exactly 05.30 'smorn. Silence resumed at 05.32 as another vertical deluge swept through the HR2 postal district.

Ah well, almost time to serve Mrs Grumpy's coffee. Think I'd better use the 8ft pole 'smorn. The raging storm outside is bound to have set her mood for the day ahead. And I note that the cat has taken cover.
