Hi - I need to upgrade 4 scalextric cars to slot it guide.
However there are 3 different size bnova adapters (sold in packs to distributors) and I don't want to buy 12 adapters when I only need 4!
Has anyone done a standard upgrade on a modern scalextric car (not drift guide)
If I knew the correct size I could just order it direct from the seller
Thanks

Jasperok,
The B-Nova adapters come in packs of three. The only difference between them is the thickness so that you can adjust the height of the Slot-it guide above the track surface. I recently repaired my Scalextric Camaro TransAm car to use the Slot-it guide using a B-Nova adaptor.

The reason there are 3 different sizes is because Scalextric does not make all cars the same in regards to the guide area.

Each model of Scalextric cars may take a different thickness B-Nova adaptor. While I understand you're not wanting to buy 12 to use 4, we really can't advise which to buy because we don't know what cars you're working with, or what guide height you're looking for (different people set guides at different heights).

Hi, I have used these B-Nova guide adaptors with great success on the the few Scalextric cars that I have, I first purchased the 3 size pack, and on my Scalextric Porsche 911 yellow 46 forum gelb car - the slimmest adaptor(the 1/32 size adaptor) works perfect on my Scalextric Sport track(Digital and Analogue), use with a Slot.it screw in guide(SICH10) or Sloting Plus Ref:2130 2 Universal standard guide with screw - Pack 2, either work great.

That is just one example and also I found my other Scaley cars I used the adaptors on also used the slimmest size(1/32 size), but still this may not be the case for all Scalextric cars, so best try the 3 size pack first if you don't wish to buy all the size packs to start with.

Note that Bob offers a deal on 6 items and you get free P+P, now if you buy 1 item you will have to pay about the same again in P+P, so nearly $10 for 1 pack, I just purchased 6 items through bidding on his eBay site: 3 packs of guide adaptors - 1 of each size pack(1/32, 1/16, 3/32) and 3 packs of his motor adaptors, all for just $21.75 including free P+P to United Kingdom. Hows that for a bargain! : ) = Happy Buyer

Hope this helps.

I have used quite a few of these adapters on Nascars and American Classics, without exception I have used the 1/32 thichness. This sets the underside of the guide flush with the underside of the chassis for minimum ground clearence, we do this because we race on a smooth wood track. If you are looking to retain the standard ground clearence and are not intending to reduce the front tyre size significantly the 1/16 item would be more suitable but may require a spacer washer on the guide post.
Also note that Sloting Plus Guides fit this adapter/scaly combination really well.
Cheers
