My neighbour has just changed his cars to a new M3 and 02 Ferrari 360 which he leaves on the road. Walking past it most days the Ferrari a lot bigger car than you would think.

This set me thinking what two cars would you have if you had around £100,000 to spend?

Hi RR,

Wow, what a great topic!

I would have a MK1 Mazda RX7 with all the trimmings - I just love the look of those cars and the 'reasonable' performance. Secondly, I would opt for a Trabant 601 - the bags of character more than make up for all the other negative points - imho.

Crazy, I know, but those are my choices.

Your neighbour leaves his Ferrari parked out on the road???

Yes he leaves it on the road most of the time or sometimes on the end of his drive. Their is a late Porsche GT3 just over the road that Mark is just swoping for a Turbo. I would have kept the GT3.

I would buy a Ferrari Dino, I have alway loved the shape of these cars, or a 365 Boxer or a 'E' type any of which you could buy for around £40,000 and I would keep the Merc which I love driving.

I would get an early series Dino 206 GT, Then use the rest of the money for a GTD GT40 Replica which I can use to raise money for rides for Sporting Bears.

Chinese menu style pick one from group A (for their fun value)
and one from group B (for sheer practicality)

Group A

BMW Z8
Mercedes SL600
Corvette C6
Nissan 350Z
Chrysler Crossfire

Group B

tricked out Chevy Nomad station wagon
Dodge Magnum
2004 Ford Lightning
tricked out 1956 Ford pick-up

Thanks Santa. I'll be good next year.

For the fastest and safest transportation on autobahn.

..new Elise 111R (60kCHF) and Toyota LandCruiser 500 (100kCHF)
alternative:
Elise 111R and Volvo XC70 or XC90 - and still money left. But the Elise is a must!

sacesta, I take it you've never driven a Crossfire then...? Personally I wouldn't have put it in the fun category, but then I suppose saying that, everybodys differant and one mans fun is another mans allegro.

How about adding the Dodge Ram SRT10 to Group B? If not it'd have to be the Lightning.

Of course, I forgot about the Porsche 997 for my list. Would have to be standard though, more than enough power and torque to be fun and personally I prefer the standard suspension to the active on the S.

Hang on, my list is supposed to be getting shorter not longer...damn

With 100K to spend and two cars I'd possibly go for :-

Audi RS4 with a bit of tweaking - this is the daily hack and baby lugger

Nissan R34GTR again with some tweaking - weekender

If any left some sort of cheap track car 205 MK2 Golf and season ticket to the 'ring.

Good thinking Scoob!

Might think about changing the Cossie for an RS4/6.

And screw insurance! I want a season ticket to the 'ring and a small house inside the grounds... Actually... how many days a year could I drive round Spa?
