Hi guys,

Just realised that since the announcement of their new models for 2004, we haven't heard from MG Vanquish very much ?

I was hoping to get the Courage C60....

Anybody out there knows whats going on ? Have they cancelled models or are they in some kind of trouble ?

Cheers,

yves

Hi, well, their latest release was the Brabham BT49 F1 car, but many didn't even notice, and also VMG itself didn't make much "noise" around this car.

And to dissapoint you all, VMG seems to have cancelled ALL non-F1 models (Courage, Alfa 33...) and stopped the CanAm-series.

As it seems that the Lotus 72 sold better than previous VMG models, VMG will only produce F1 cars in the future.

That's good news and bad news. Scale issues aside, I love their can am cars. Fortunately I've never had an issue with the diff and they are great fun without the magnet. However, They may have found a niche with their F1's as long as they produce them from the 60's and 70's era.

I have all the 72's except one and hope to resolve that soon. It seems to me that a Lotus 49 would be a natural to produce since they could use the same engine detailing as on the 72. Think of the possibilities, the original Jim Clark and Graham Hill versions, the Hill and Andretti Gold Leaf versions with and without wings, Rob Walker version, Team Gunston.

For that matter, think of all the different teams that used a Cosworth. Now that would be good news.

Question to the manufacturers out there :

who will be the first to launch the Courage C60 now that Vanquish has abandoned its release ?

The Courage is an absolute must in any current LMP set-up....
!

Thank you in advance.

"MTR-32 makes this rather nice vac-formed version of the Courage C60:"

Many will attest to Milan's work, and so do I. He does a wonderful job on the bodies he sells. As well as the chassis.

One would think that Vanquish would get the hint and drop the diff. in favor of the more traditional set-up and make thier cars closer to 1/32 scale.

I would also firmly attest to the quality and fun of Milans cars, bought with his own chassis complete the cars are extremely well priced and the detail is amazing, not to mention the speed and handling (they are non magnet)
I WOULD point out his cars are designed to run on wood so the tyres are sponge. You would need to replace with Slot. It, BWA or NSR for example toi run well on Ninco or SCX etc, they are fine on Sport of Carera with a drop of WD40 on them.
