i'm looking to identify what models used this , or a similar wheel. i have 2 of these and i think they came in a late 80's/early 90's tune up set. they are very slightly larger than the wheels fitted to older scalex cars , escort mexico/datsun 260z/mini 1275gt etc. i have a couple of projects on the go and i am looking to source wheels that i can run with some tyres that came off a couple of new style bash 'em up nascars. the nascar rims will just take the old style super slix tyres but unfortunately not the other way around as the mystery wheel is slightly larger in both width and diameter. i'm not sure what i should be looking for and any help would be appreciated...unless , that is , anyone has a couple of sets kicking round.....or even nascar rims?

It's the same style of wheel as fitted to the first Scalextric Nascars and the front of some Scalextric F1 and Indy cars.

Hello Pete,
These are front wheels from the single seaters that Hornby/Scalextric made for a while. They are sometimes known as "team cars" as they are not based upon real F1 cars and represent fantasy teams.

They sell on Ebay frequently - there is an example below :-

Thanks to Greenhills Garages for the picture (I have no connection to them)

Edit: Dopamine got in whilst I as fiddling with the link...

cheers guys. it just so happened that none of the cars in my (ever expanding) collection are fitted with these wheels , so i had no reference there. i've had a scan on "the bay" and think i have identified some likely candidates for purchase. thanks again for the help!
