Hi
I have a small collection of Scalextric, Fly, Ninco and SCX F1 cars including 2 Ferrari 312T's and think that it is about time that I bought another one.
I love the Ostorero 1985 Michele Alboreto car but it is way out of my price league and wondered if any members had suggestions which alternatives are out there? Ideally I'd like a car from the 80's, 90's or 00's and detail is more important than performance.
Thanks in advance.

If you don't already have one I'd pick up a 2004 ferrari F1 from scalextric. I believe that there are a number of after market decal makers who you can then order the missing decals from.

Have a look for a guy named patto his decals are great from all reports.

I also like the 2010 Alonso Ferrari released by carrera - must have modern F1

Regards,

Don't forget good old Eddie Irvine in the Asprey #6 Ferrari...

...slightly super-resistant looks & all that...

...a real BLAST out on track though !!!

Proper engine in that little gem...

...Michael Schumacher in the #1 Carrera EATS DUST when Eddie's on track behind the wheel of #6.

Can't go wrong with a car like that folks !

Cheers for now.

Si.

P.S Watch out for the bad scaleing on the Carrera #1 Ferrari, Michael's head is WAY too small (no kidding, it looks really bad !).

You could always modify an old Scaley 312T using a bit of filler, some time and effort and some superb INDYCALS from the USA.

Or modify an old scaley 312T3 into a 312T4

For the 1980s there's really only one choice outside the gorgeous but expensive Ostorero - the SCX Ferrari F1/87. These are such nice cars to run. I was always a Gerhard Berger fan so reliveried mine...

For the 1990s again choice is limited, my favourite being the Scalextric 643 which again I repainted as Jean Alesi's car:

Pro-Slot did the F300 from 1998 and this can be made to look very nice using Scalextric parts and a repaint.

Still hoping one day to get a 641/2 and a 412T2 - in my opinion the best looking F1 cars for 25 years. And more Villeneuve cars to go with my 312T3 relivery:

Nice T3 Sir Slotalot.

I'm doing a re-livery just like that one over the Christmas hols!

Currently building a 1973 Jackie Stewart Tyrrell 006 out of a 007.

When thats done the Ferrari will be next on the bench.
