I was round at Andy's this evening for a bit of tinker time while he wrestled with pinning a Tomy Turbo lexan BMW to a LifeLike T chassis for me. It was a tougher job than he anticipated and there was some swearing and dremeling of wheel arches going on!!

While he was doing that I was playing with a rear axle. With some fine tuning from Steady Hands himself, I've managed to get a nice new crown on there and have a set of double flange hubs to go on it. It means I have 4 or 5 quite potent cars for next week and possibly the beginnings of an EAHORC Mod car. My Porsche needs repainting for that though. It is in a sorry state.

Anyway if any of these cars go anywhere near as quick as I think they should I may be able to give John a run for his money for once! And Mike, Simon, Robin, Andy and Darren who all have very quick cars as well.

The purple Tycos look fantastic up close. Well worth whatever price they end up with.

Oh and Lee, your LifeLike T is looking very nice too. I didn't bend it or anything either!

Oh yes the race is on now!!!!!!!! Have just recieved the package from the usa some srt`s and a mega G lets start the race now I cant wait until wednesday!!!!!! Oh and I nearly forgot the kids have thier surprise cars as well!!!!

I should think they'll be some serious testing going on this weekend to make sure those new cars are working.

Mod is great fun. There are so many choices of chassis and you can take on the challenge of building your own car. Throwing a bunch of components together can give you a great car, or something that requires some 'development'.

I'm holding my breath over my Mega-G. And I should get my Tyco is some sort of state to give it a run on Wednesday.

What I can say is that buying a ready to race car is always a good bet. We know from last year that the SCD SRT is great out of the box and the Harden Creek Tycos come highly recommended.

A standard Life Like with a lexan body also looked a good choice last year. Both Gareth and Lee will running these fitted with pin tubes (for the bodies) next Wednesday.

Once you have a car you can have a play with different gear ratios, wheels and tyres. That should make the car faster, but it might not

Robin and me are meeting up tomorrow to finish the new driver stations with adjustable brakes and an individual power supply for each lane. The new TrackMate timing software will debut in February. We want to make sure each upgrade is done well and works properly

I think I am ready for Wednesday with my Martech Marchon probably running either one of two newly aquired Scalextric Porsche 911 bodies. Also picked up two more Marchons with Group C bodies and yellow chassis which are up for sale. Callum will probably run a Turbo but those purple things look nice and it is his birthday next week.

Oh and my operation got cancelled by a phone call a few hours before I was due to go in as there was no beds!

The new driver stations look brilliant - there is some real quality craftsmanship in there, so a big thanks to mikefi.

Robin and me didn't hack them about too much as we wired them up yesterday

Another evening's work is needed to finish them off and test them before Wednesday. And we should be running with TrackMate too. Although not with relays to control the track power (that will come in February).

At which point you will have to decide about having trackcalls or not

Not good news about the operation.

I might be interested in one or both of those Marchons. Have you listed them on the bay?

No worries Mike. I'll put some in my pitbox for you. As I say they do need glueing in so won't be any good for this meeting.

I'm looking forward to finishing race prepping my cars tonight and tomorrow. I'll post some photos when I'm completed.....hopefully late enough to prevent anyone duplicating them straight away!

I will be a happy man if the MR-1 reign of dominance is ended on Wednesday....especially if I'm the one to do it. I do have the usual quandary of not knowing which car to run though as I've prepped three different chassis types.

Oh so many choices for wednesday now that snailmail has arrived!!!! I have a couple of srt`s the super turbo plus and if I can talk Stephen into it maybe even a mega g to use,,think I may need banning from club shop or I`ll be like a women in a shoe shop----"I think I like that one but they look nice!!!!!!" Also a favour to ask---if my 2 are in a final on thier own(or against me ) are they allowed to use thier "special" cars????? They are standard life likes but body shell probably does not fit into any catogries.
