I do understand that people have their actual name because it is their actual name, but me Douglas who would have chosen Dougdaracer for my name but some error message came up "your name has already been taken", so i tried the name of one of my cats (snickers), "you name has already been taken" I was now becoming quite annoyed "Snickers Pocock 1334657 slotster, has already been taken". i then shouted : "*£[email protected]!" . so i then reverted to take tibius the name of a car on a unregisterd game and added 181 to make shure the name tibius had not been taken!

But you guys, why the silly names? Moped? Dr Sticky? (second thoughts Dr Sticky brings up things i don't really think arte allowed on this forum * cough cough*) Why the silly names??

Hey there!

I have been using slik on various forums for years, picked originally as I had a tripod made by Slik next to me when I was choosing and my actual name was already being used.

Julian aka slik.

He he! Bastumannen means "the sauna guy" in Swedish. I got that name during my first year at university. I was very much involved in all sorts of activities that involved beer and general party stuff. I became in charge of general beer distribution and the pub at my section of uni. Through that I also accuired a key for the uni sauna! The rest is all history...

I started using the name at a forum for GPL (grand prix legends computer sim) and I've stuck to it since

I like my Porsches "hairy". Just a fun, vaguely obscene term that works for me at the equally insane "club" I'm in. The Paperclip of Doom? Nothing but fun! I often raced against Dick Winkin and H.R.A. Master !!
Nothing is taken seriously (for long, anyway).
Cheers!

Mine is a carry-over from my other passion - Radio Controlled cars that run on fuel rather than batteries. Despite using methanol rather than gasoline (petrol), they are still referred to as "gas cars" in the US.

In the Simpsons episode "Saturdays of Thunder" (third season) Nelson rides a soapbox derby racer called "Roadkill 2000".
I thought the name was funny and decided to use it as my username when playing online games, but usually leaving out the 2000 part. On the related discussions there was usually a more hostile atmosphere than on forums such as these, so nobody was using their real name anywhere...
Since then I've stuck with the name, and added 2000 when it has been taken.

Difflock is my handle from the online community based around Codemaster's off-road racing game, 1nsane. At the time no-one seemed to be using "typical" off-roading names. I thought what piece of equipment do most off-road vehicles have? A locking differential!! Et Voila..no-one had chosen my handle

Bacardibeast is my email address at Hotmail. Bacardi is what I drink on a regular basis. I tried Bacardi Bat but loads of people had that already so after a quick think, I became Bacardibeast. It's my name for all online stuff, including ebay!

My avatar is because I have a shaved head and the girls at work all call me either 'George Doors' or Uncle Fester. Being a bit of an old school Goth, I prefer Fester!

My name came about purely and simply because, when I was a first former at prep school, the favourite passtime during break was racing the Dinky Grand Prix cars in the playarea reserved for spotty little erberts of my tender years. I raced the Alfetta. It stayed in my mind.
