Why OH Why OH Why OH Why can't Fly get it into their heads that if you fit roof aerials onto cars you've got to make the boxes deeper so that you can close the bloody lid without snapping them

They'd do better leaving them off as they're not quite to scale. The real ones were quite short, in the front of the roof and only made of thin wire. Check out some photos here.

Just replace the missing, or broken attenna with some Stren fishing line, that flexible nylon stuff in many different thicknesses. Glue it from the inside to the correct height. A dab of black paint and done and worry no more.
