Nope not mine. Was just surfing and came across it. Kinda surprised no one has heard about it either. Very interesting just the same. The stand a lone aspect of the system should appeal to quite a few. Not me though. I want all the bells and whistles. Don't know if I will use everything, but I do know I want it all.

I was just thinking that it would fall down the same (huge, gaping) hole that Slot.it did with their digital module.
Scalextric for some inextricable reason changed the logic voltage on the APB, so any throttles (or systems) that determine a voltage level fundamentally cant work on C7030/PB-Pro/PB4 and C7042. Could be easy to fix, but that really depends on how the concept has been implemented.

Strange I got a website "domain available" for www.slotcarsolutions.com
Also strange that the Youtube video dates back to January.

Very interesting, indeed! Especially interesting because of how long it's been online, with no mention that I've seen here or other popular slot/SSD sites.
I wonder if something happened to the people putting it out, or if they ran into legal trouble of some kind?
I sure hope they are selling them and we can get more information about them. While they're not as fancy as Andy's, any competition is a good thing, IMHO.
Maybe they ditched the idea since they'd have to do too much to update it for the APB? If so, that would suck. Hopefully they can make it work on either system (a switch would be especially nice ;-).

The other aspect is we sort of all work together here to come up with and develop solutions, me, RichG, AndyS, MIH, AWallace, and so many more. As he has a PB-ProSH he must know slotforum, and he could have been part of the team developing solutions... Our loss...

Sorry to steal the thread for a moment.

Are you saying there is a problem with the slot.it chip on the new APB ? I've noticed when trying to race ge other day hat keeto and my cars just kept changing speed for no reason ?

Ok, back to the thread now

There is a problem with the Slot.it SCP01d controller on the APB. For the controller to work with the APB, it needs to have the new 3v3 version of the digital controller cartridge.
There is no problem with the slot.it in car SSD chip that I know of.

Would be good if we could encourage the developer to come on here and answer a few questions.

1) Given that it has had no mentions here, does the system actually exist and is how many people are using it? email to both the addresses are bounced so I have my doubts. However I have just noticed that they have spelt solutions as soultions in the email address so am trying again.

2) Have they measured any additional delay added by the system & is it acceptable? I suspect it will be ok.

3) Is the output resistance or voltage based? If resistance based then it will work with C7030 & C7042. If voltage based then it will only work with C7030 unless provision has been made to switch it to a different voltage range?

4) Also it would be much more cost effective if a single receiver could be extended to support 6 transmitters, rather than 3 receivers being needed?

Hi All, very nice to see that there are some interest in our product. I am the technical man behind SlotCarSolutions and together with my more comersial friend Ola we have developed this product to simplify the life for slot car drivers.
The reason for the quite long development time is that we both have lately have got small children and they have a bad feature to take quite alot of time.

The system has not been sold in any large quantities but mainly to friends and close contacts but we hope that a broader level of users could be interested.

The system simulates the hand controler by using digital potentiometer so the system should be possible to use on all SSD bases, we have tested PB4 and PB6 with PB-Pro. We have not had the oportunity to test the new APB6.

The system does not add any delay that can be identified by the user, and if needed I can present the exact numbers. We have run several hundreds of laps and judge the system to be stable.

We could also make a 6 car receiver but as start we decided to go for only 2 as we see the main market to be for the PB4.

Please dont hesitate to contact us for any questions, and sorry for our misspelt email-adresses on the web page, this is now corrected.
Please also spread the information about us if possible.

We will from now be more active in this forum.

Hi Thobias & Ola

Mystery solved! Welcome to the forum.

I was beginning to think SCS was all imaginary but you'll certainly get a lot of interest here with this product and it is a good place to spread the word along with other big forum which is across the waters and more US orientated. There's also one of your compatriots, MuCaRo, who's teasing us with his ongoing development of regulated lane changers amongst other things in the digital forum.
So, looking forward to lots of info, pics & videos to wet our appetites.

Cheers

We will absolutely keep posting images and movies from our practice. Our biggest problem is that we are so darn bad drivers, but by wireless driving it is easiy to place people around the track to pick up the wrecked cars :)

If someone would be interested we could arange for slightly used and slightly price reduced units, we have some of the prototypes still availible.

Hi all,

Nice to see that you found us, even though we've been quite hard to find! Terrible mistake with the spelling of contact address. Wrong in first place, then copy-paste.

Anyway, just to give you some more background what we do and who we are.

As responsible fathers we bought SSD systems to our kids at an early stage of their lives (my daughter wasn't even born..). Still responsible fathers we decided to try out the systems before handing it over. We were actually surprised that the controls weren't wireless right out of the box year 2008. So after a couple of caotic races we started to think about how it could be improved to fit our style of racing (6 men in their 40's running around chasing cars, forgetting that they have a 1.5 meter control cable attached).

A couple of systems were tested and rejected by performance or price, ZigBee for example. In beginning of 2010 we had a stable and working system and decided to publish the website, just to see what happened. A couple of systems were sold to close friends but we decided not to promote it until it had been proven also by other persons. With some feedback and new ideas of 2nd generation we stopped the website until we had this new version ready and tested. It was intended this summer, but our wives and families did not really understand our idea to spend the summer in Thobias garage.
So it took a while and the site was republished just recently.

There are a couple of really nice systems out there with lots of interesting features, latest contribution by AWallace which looks very promising. I can see myself placing an order eventually..

Our approach is more simple and the intention is to make it affordable, easy to use and implement on an existing system without any changes or additional stuff. The intention is to share our ideas and products to other's beeing in same situation, just missing a wireless alternative. We'll try to keep it as simple and cost effective as it can be. If there's an interest for 4 or 6 channel receivers, it is of course possible. We just had to start somewhere.

We have more ideas of how to improve the racing, but that will be something for the future!

We'll be happy to get feedback and ideas from you guys. If anyone's interested to be test drivers, send us a PM and we can discuss it!

Cheers

I think that if you can deliver a 6 channel receiver you will have a good "base" product while Andy Wallace works on one with all the bells and whistles.

There are definitely at least 2 markets out there... check out the poll that was done (link) given that people would buy 1 to 6 of these... suggests range of just basic to full blown features.

With Oxygen and Scorpius also going wireless, I think the "sweet spot" is for a basic unit that just removes the wires and works with all brands and makes (SSD PB-Pro as well as APB, SCX maybe, Ninco maybe - Carrera already has one).

If you offered a 6 channel receiver with 2 controllers and additional transmitters for added cost you will have a winner. Just not sure what shipping costs will do to your pricing structure.

Anyway, post some links and updates on this or another thread so we can follow it.
Cheers!

Hej hej till Ethobias and Orw fran Chip

I very much like your gadget.
I am writing to let you know that I am interested in the 6 wireless control system you may make if I can afford it. I've been away from this slot car forum for a year or so because of new arrival to the family but now I shall get back into racing regularly with the powerbase pro SH and Andy Wallace software.
I am still very interested in the Oxigen system but I don't have the room, I can't have a permanent track and I don't have the money. But I am willing to make a sacrifice for this 6 car gadget if it works and is affordable. A good substitute to Oxigen or Scorpius. I am sure many more are interested/curious.

I wish you all the success. Wireless racing is the way to go

Hej Chip!

Thanks! I'm happy to see that you like it. But should you really see it as a sacrifice?

It is obvious that there is a bigger interest in a 6ch reciver than we thought. We will create such receiver shortly and make a new structure on the website when we consider it to be a tested "product".
I'll send you a PM regarding what we can do already today.

Cheers

I would be interested in one for my set up if it is compatible with the APB 7042... Has it been tested on the C7042 yet? If not, any plans to do so? And a timeline?

Also, what would the postage to Australia cost?

Cheers

Andrew
