Hi all, I started to chip Ford Escort Mk1 1969 Ref: C321 and basically made a mess of it over cooked the chip. By the time I had got a new one I forgot the wiring sequence, after checking my other Mk1's I noticed there has been a change to the wiring. Has anyone got a wiring diagram for the latest version. I am in reverse (which ever way I swith the polarity form the pickups) & lights don't work. Help please, if possible not too technical?

Hi there,
First off, let me welcome you theforum.

You are on the right track with reversing the wires but you should be doing this on the other end, ie the motor. The pickups do not really matter which way around they go but the motor ones do.

It is always good to test the car on a piece of track before you put the body back on, particularly if it is a tight fit. The odditiy of chipping cars is that you can never really be sure which wires connect to the motor. A quick method is to use small crocodile clips to attach the red and black wires to the motor terminals to ensure you get them the right way around before you solder them on.

Have a good look through the Chipping Index for further useful tips and ideas.
