I have a question, If I use a pit box base set with the creation of a wood track, and carefully over lap copper tape so that there is electrical current flowing to the track will the pit box and cars register it as part of the track. Also: To create hills and climbs what is the maximum angle a car can climb/fall, plus how should I screw/adhere angled boards to the track so that it is near seamless plus stays solid?

Yes it should but I would also solder wire taps between the copper and rails. Also if you plan on routing lane changes
you have to solder in capacitors wherever there is a break in the copper.I know this because I burned out a
control board($90)
here is a photo of a stock lane change showing the capacitor,it has 309 printed on it,I could not find any for sale separately
so I cannibalized them off of track pieces.
Hope this helps you a little....
