Hello..I was thinking of trying a small oval wooden self build to test my skills in preparation for a larger layout. Can anyone advise me on their 'routing' experiences and where to get 'The Tape' from, laying it on cornors!!! & what it's actually called....Please...Thank-you.

The best place to get copper tape is from a stained glass window hobby shop.
Just have a search on the web for some in your area .
The are also a good source for high heat soldering irons .

Down here the local glass supply shops have the tape. I use the black backed one and it is 1/4 inch wide . the black one is a bit thicker and seem to adhere better. It is about $12.00 a packet it is called Master Foil and I think the different sizes are in different coloured packets. Eack packet (roll) is 33 yards.

I would like to add Ed Bianchi <[email protected]> to the list of suppliers of tape.
His is 1/8", broad enough to ensure contact, narrow enough to not dominate the track.
I've been more than happy to use it. Even after moving from HO to 1:32.
