Hi there Keeto..

Yes, it is an "Ice Cream Van", based on a Morris Minor..

.. one of my more "Unusual" conversions..
It has a diecast front and a plastic rear ice cream selleng section.

I dont usually convert Diecast vehiclel to slotcars, but this one was so "Cool" (excuse the pun).. I just had to do it..

Should be quite fun to run arond the track, the kids will love it..

When its finished, I will post some photos..

I'm loving it. JCS100 in my opinion, there is no such thing as a untidy or bomb hit work area.

Most of these, to me, looks like seriously experienced slotter's work area...that clearly excludes mine...if those benches could only but speak....

Here is my working desk.

This is my indoor setup so I don't have to go out in the wet and work in a workshop that has paint dust everywhere

Please not the usual suspects, glue gun, soldering station (my new one well worth the £80), Wire strippers and storage containing every last bit of cut off wire or connector I might want some day.

Here are some shelf queens that sit behind the desk along with about 20 cars than need chipping and lighting.

This is my work area where i like to think the magic happens.

This is my main work station where i do my builds . My tyre truing machine is the NSR what i use for truing my 32 and 24 scale tyres. Great machine.

My lathe comes in handy for a number of things for the slots.

Power station. My speed checkers .I have 2 speed checkers as one is for my 32 scale cars and the other for my 24 scale cars.

Other work space with the boxes full of spares and cars.

That small green milling/drilling machine you have on your bench looks very intresting..

If possible could you supply some details of it please .... Price, Make, Where you purchased it, etc.

It looks like a very handy little machine for us slot car builders..

Years ago, when I was racing 1/24th cars I built this portable bench to bring to big races where table space might be limited. The legs are removable, the drawer latches shut and there is a long extension cord for the electrical outlets. I also have a workbench and tables with a drill press, a commutator truing machine, a tire truing machine and other implements of destruction.

Hi Kusto

It is a Proxxon MF73 - looked around for a while seeing what there was and felt this was best for what I wanted (or am capable of doing) - works superbly. I got it off e-bay - but I used the german supplier as they were €100.00 cheaper than the UK or other suppliers. It cost me €260.00. Hope that helps

@Shane: That is a incredible set-up you have there.

@Martin: I can vouch for Proxxon tools as well. For me they are a bit more accurate than the Dremel's.

@Abie: Hey, welcome to the "study" club

....I'm in awe of some of the stuff I've seen so far....very impressive. One day when we are "big" we'll have nice setups as well.

The between projects look.

I can tell it's between projects because the top drawer is closed.

Cupboard below on left contains a plastic container of model paints and a matching container of artists acrylics on bottom shelf and assorted scenery making bits on top shelf.
Top drawer = assorted clutter in relatively easy reach
Second drawer = tapes, glues (yup more glues), glue gun etc
Bottom drawer =

Not sure. Haven't had to dig that deep for awhile

Mine is just about finished next to my new track build.

Joined up 2 of these lab benches which were being thrown out from work giving me a 4 metre bench x 900mm deep. I built the backboard which has flouro lights mounted underneath. Planning to fit storage bins on the backboard.

I also have benches for guests and some selves for cars directly behind.

Great setup, love the bench and space. It looks unreal, rather jealous of that setup....
