QUOTE (miveson @ 30 Oct 2011, 18:48) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Cam,

You have to be in the medical profession....

Engineering actually, god help someone if I needed to operate on them

QUOTE (Phil Kalbfell @ 30 Oct 2011, 18:51) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Cam you must be just too busy working on the track to use the bench!
Mine is never that clean even when I clean it up.

I have been busy on both actually Phil, I'm planning to take a week off shortly to hook in and get the new track running.

QUOTE (Billy_Cart @ 30 Oct 2011, 18:59) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>New track build ? I'm still waiting to see the Greenslopes Raceway in its full Srorpius glory.

Greenslopes is pretty much finished, I have caught the Plafit bug however and neeeeeeeed a 1/24 track

Planning on having both analogue and digital this time.

QUOTE (Ember @ 30 Oct 2011, 19:02) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>That's not just clean. That's bordering on freakish. Have you actually moved in yet Cam?

Embs

Well I've started on some builds Embs, the room still needs some character though. Thinking some car badges, posters, memorabilia etc to give it some soul.

regards,

Cam

@Cam, that is MIGHTY impressive. Reminds me of a F1 garage...near sterile

If I only had 2 meters worth of that workbench it would be great!

@Kennee What one earth do you cut with those MASSIVE scissors?

I'm considering to buy some shares in Dremel Embs.

At the risk of sidelining this excellent thread into "essential slot tools", it is true that your basic Dremel is a must-have, every bit as much as an X-acto knife IMO. Now to sequeway back, I'm noticing how many "hi-tech" builders we have....I really like that temperature controlled heating iron I saw a page or two back. Also, enjoying what a small world it is...Wraith and I share a printer, and I see that Abie and I use the same epoxy. Great thread!

Cheers!

I'm sure I'm like many people and would love a lathe, not sure what I would do with it.

Custom alloy wheels.

Masters for casting bespoke tyres for custom alloy wheels.

Not much else really but I would love one to play with and make custom moon disks and outrageously large low profile rear tyres for my rat rod project.

You cold use a lathe for:

- Accurate masters for casting rubber wheels
- Normal bearings
- Special asymmetric bearings
- Inserts
- Special cut to lengt washers
- Splitting rubber tyres accurately
- Making of special tuning screws
- Rims were mentioned
- Polishing of any round parts
- Making of headlights
- Making of special tools
- Modifying of existing tools
- Etc...

Cheers!

I looked at lates capable of working with ally to make custom wheels but they cost way to much. Do you mind telling me what that one cost?

No more takers?

I was quite enjoying the "bomb blast" effect work areas...
