..it's a MG - and a nice but little expensive toy for big boys

Would be worth a ride on the Nordschleife of Nuerburgring to test the capabilities against the Nissan Skyline GTR

Slotcar would be nice - but who should produce it? Proteus and Cartrix have not the capacity - Carrera or Scalextric? Would fit to their assortement ?

Urgh.

Looks like someone took one of the Hyundai Coupes on a ram raid of their nearest Halfords superstore and all the aftermarket spoilers and skirts stuck to it as it drove down the aisle.

It makes the Lexus Coupe look half decent.

I thought it was a Rover MG body sitting on Qvale (?) underpinnings.

ok then.. 320brake for 75k or 430 brake for 7k.. (Sierra 2wd cossie Saff) I'd go for the latter!

then you have the 400+bhp M5's/E55's/S6's for about 50k.. toughy real thoughy that one!

Not all cossies are 430 BHP, it would take a bit of tuning to get that figure.

I like the escorts (MK2's of course) with cossie engines.

Or a Caterham with a 1.8 sub-200bhp engine that would waste them all.

If you want doors, then £10k for an old shape M5.

I'd have a lobotomy before spending a penny on a Cossie. A shite car is a shite car no matter how many turbos you strap on to it.

I wish them well, but that new Rover/MG sums up what a joke the company is becoming. No doubt someone will buy it. People still buy TVRs after all!

How can cossies be shite? look how many mags there are, they all love cossies.. well vast majority barring vauxhall performance mag...

Going back to the MG at the top - I'm afraid it doesn't appeal to me at all.
Ugly brute!
If I didn't already know what it was and had to guess, I would have thought perhaps a Nissan gone wrong.

All the new MGs have managed to look like the Rovers they were based on, other than first having been very well beaten with the 'Ugly Stick'. This one cleverly manages the ugly trick all by itself, without benefit of any Rover siblings.

Ugly can have an appeal all of its own, but only to a tiny minority of quirky individualists. It's about time the MG enclave within Rover realised that, if they want to sell cars in quantity, they should incorporate an element of grace and sophistication about the appearance of their cars rather than just gluing big lumps of scrap plastic and metal onto a fairly mundane basic shape.

Ecurie Ecosse,

Cant see your logic on this one.

I was looking through some fast ford mags today, and I saw a burgandy saff cossie with 17's and over 300BHP. It looked VERY VERY smart.

Also, when we was going to town today, one overtook us. Love the sound of the dump valves!

I dont have a road car, cos im 15 and im in my last year at school.

As soon as I leave school i'm going to get a MK2 Escort. (surprise, surprise)

But... I have five mini's because I do grass track racing. Me and my brother both race in the juniors and its great fun (untill everything starts going wrong, or if someone punts you off!)

You are probably wondering why I dont want a mini when i'm older. Because they are crap to work on, crampt, and front wheel drive!!

Heres a picture of me in action:

We're going to build a new car for next season (another clubman).

Anyway Inte, what do you drive?

depends what mood I'm in.. some times scratch builds.. some times rtrs..

er cant exactly drive.. but..
I have aquired MK1 Fiesta which doesnt work and is in a friend of a friends garage
Lotus Elite (which I promptly sold
)
XR3i which the parents wont let me keep and it's not insurance friendly

so when I have sent my £30 to the rip off agency er I mean DVLA for my provisional license and paid my whopping £700 insurance quote for a 1.2 fiesta
I will then be driving.. may want to take a look in the pit lane..

Rob.
p.s finding quotes on direct line...
p.p.s you do know insurance companies will take you for a ride if you even mention the words RWD and 17..

£700 ins. for a 1200 Fiesta? BLIMEY!

One good thing about the MK2 Escort tho, I think I wont have to pay for tax if the car is over 25 years old?

May need to check that one out tho.

yeah but i have heard a rumor of mg doing a tuned version of that car with nos nearly 900 bhp
but anyway minis arent that bad to work on and what is wrong with a fwd car
modded minis can be made faster than most cossies anyway 300bhp 11000 rpm less than 4 seconds to 60 ,8 cylinders any mk2's that will beat that?
