The 60's are probably my Golden Epoch but all others have something to offer - the earlier decades remind me of the tales my Grandfather and Father told me, while the development of cars since has been a fascinating ride.

Well put!

Aesthetically, I prefer the pre-***-pack and aerofoil era, no doubt about it.

I also miss the sound of Matra or Ferrari V12's or even some of the the turbo era cars.

But watching the sheer speed - especially through corners - of today's cars is awe inspiring at times.

No need for that!

Its just a reminder of how deadly the sport was until relatively recently

Interesting to reflect on how attitudes to mortality have changed over the years.

You are not alone Trish - just remember that!!!

Perversely, my introduction to slot cars was via my fathers cousins, his aunt being Aunty Trish . . .

Happy Easter, one and all.

The two photographs appear to show two different cars, unless end-plates were added to the rear wing during the day . . .

And why are the exhausts so high in that second photo?

Seem to remember them running with GP cars at the Race of Champions.
