Most motor racing folk look back to their favourite eras from time to time because we have brains that store memories. Like all 'disciplines' motor sport, in all its forms, has gone through highs and lows, but even during troughs, we can often reflect on something that has been stored in our minds with affection.

As usual your views and images will always be of great interest. And thanks.

A few memory joggers below.

Two contrasting eras. From the swinging sixties to the dismantling of the Berlin Wall. We've lived through heady times.

Went on a tour organised by classic cars magazine,be 1983, we visited Sclumph, Mercedes and Porsche museums, very enjoyable, fascinating story the Sclumph collection.
I read Tom wheatcroft’s book a few years ago I think at one stage he has an opportunity to buy the schlumph collection but it fell through and that’s what drove him to do a few recreations.

fabulous book must read it again

Love the simplicity of the circuit. I wonder if they will close Heathrow or Gatwick to hold a race 😁

A Blitzen Benz built/rebuilt by a chum a few years ago. It's the dainty 30--liitre version. Ideal in these days of energy conservation...

A slot version would be fairly easy to build, but probably lacks relevance.

In the current days of 3DP, it's not about relevance....it's because you can. It has always been that way for those talented enough to carve, but some of us are not in that select group.

The Goodwood Revival will honor Carroll Shelby this year on the 100th anniversary of his birth. This group of Daytona Coupes were there in 2015. Hopefully they will return and I’ll be able to watch the US broadcast.
