Fascinating vid, the Rover-BRM one, even if the '60s period music and the very clipped voice of the commentator did get a bit wearing at times. :)

The early shots of the car running were taken at MIRA I think, it all looked very familiar as I was there a lot around that period, but never saw (or heard...) the Rover-BRM.

The first race for F5000 cars at Oulton Park, 1969. Peter Gethin won both heats in his McLaren-Chevrolet. A pity that these wonderful cars are largely forgotten today.

The VSCC's annual Welsh Trial at Pilleth, Radnorshire, in Nineteen Hundred and Frozen to Death. A Vauxhall 30/98 winds its way up yet another slippery slope.

All things considered the 30/98 - the last great Vauxhall - still ranks among the world's most versatile sports-tourers.

I tend to agree with you, Mark. Stylish in a 1920s' vogue. Wonder if they'd appeal to the boy racer brigade today.

Perhaps we should let Halford's know that they might be missing a marketing opportunity.
