I agree, Kit. I saw the V12s from the earliest days. Fab racket! Incidentally, can I assume that Slot It made a plausible model of the 'spatless' car?

Mr Walkinshaw still owes my previous employers a £1/4million! There's of course NO chance they'll ever get it.

The Slot.It Jags come with removable spats, and if you want to build a spatted one you have to GLUE them in or they'll rattle out on the first lap!

As for Jag V12s, I was sent up to Browns Lane in the middle 60s to strain gauge a couple of Mk Xs they had there, and both had early V12s installed. The 4 cam one had such a restricted turning circle due to the very wide engine that they had to use a trolley jack under the front cross-member to get it out of the garage! :)

Ah, thanks, Kit for advice about spats. I rather fancy one of the Slot It Silk Cut cars sans spats, which is why we need the return of swapmeets.

Nice story about early V12s, too. Thank you.

I seem to recall that taka-Q was the Japanese arm of New Man clothing. Anyhow, a pic below that simply makes a change from Reinhold's more illustrious 956.

A superb photograph, Mark. Thanks 👍 for posting it. Crisp and very to-the-point mid 1970s no-nonsense Ken.

Please add them here! Without wishing to be presumptive, I’m sure Laurence wouldn’t mind :)

The 1957 Zagato-bodied 450S Maserati, regarded by Girling Foss as the second most horrible car he ever drove.
