Here is an update to this post. Though not AW Xtraction Chassis Cars, I did purchase myself a couple of real beautiful Auto World 4 Gear Chassis Drag Cars. as shown below. Initially, for the first hundred laps or so the both ran great on both my dragstrip and my road race track. But then, the Blue one, which is a Hot Wheels Special Tribute Car, failed and the seller is replacing the chassis at his cost and I am waiting for that now. I have also included a video of the Wonder Wagon racing an AFX Corvette C8 I also got myself recently. Both run great.

I'll learn how to be a proper slot car hobbyist and collector some day but in the mean time I continue to enjoy myself and hope I do not offend to many sensibilities. You guys in this Forum have been a great help and encouragement to me on my nascent journey of only 4 or 5 months into the slotting world and I appreciate it. Enjoy. PS. - I, like I imagine many of you who grew up in the U.S. grew up on Wonder Bread so I could not resist getting this car. I think it is awesome! View attachment 407366

The classic Aurora chassis reproductions that AutoWorld offers do require classic maintenance.

They are not turn key cars and neither was the original Aurora ones. I can see why AutoWorld is coming out with Amp cars. At first I thought it was a cost reduction chassis but I also think it's a maintenance reduction chassis.

Racemasters by design prohibit maintenance.

Why did the 4-gear fail? Probably the rear cluster gear needing to pressed. Easy to fix but I have tools.

They will be the Tyco Cliff Hangers of the current age. A ditch grasp on the Christmas toy catalog rush. It is a cost reduction. The enthusiasts don't really care about maintenance reduction. It is par for the course and part of the hobby.
Reading the Facebook forums, us tinkerers are in the minority. People get baffled over the simple things and expect a new chassis after a tiny fault. The "warranty" claims must be expensive
