Hi all,
I have been informed that slot it produce an axle set for Ninco cars but I cannot find any details anywhere, probably due to my not knowing what to look for!
I have a large amount of Ninco cars that on inspection the majority have split pinions. This seems to be primarily on the anglewinder versions and I cannot source these either so hoping someone can advise on a suitable replacement option and where to purchase them.
Thankyou
Mark

Slotting Plus also make/made a solid axle holder (helps stiffen the Ninco back end, and being sealed, you can glue to it, the chassis and the motor to your hearts content.)

Comes in two widths, 31 and 31.6mm for different chassis.

Combi Plus Bushings 31.6mm - Ninco GTs SLPL1010 and SLPL1011

Internally it takes standard 2.38mm axles like Slot.it, Slotting Plus, ScaleAuto, Sideways etc

Hello Gents,

The wheels are falling off my Ninco 997 (plus, despite running it with toothpaste and rubbing compound it still sounds like a box of rocks), so I was thinking of replacing the rear axle.

So, from this post, I was looking at this one... https://www.professormotor.com/product-p/nsr4013.htm.

1) Will this thing work?

2) Is this the same wheel size as the stock Ninco 997 tires?

3) Can I use my old Ninco tires, or do I need to buy new ones? If I do need to buy new ones, I run Urethane, so what tires do I need?

Thanks for your help.

I seem to remember noisy Ninco cars....

Remove interior and glue all fittings such as roll bar, driver, etc onto the interior tray

Glue the glazing into place with canopy glue or similar....around the lower edges as well as in the roof.

Glue interior in to the body.

Glue motor into position, I use superglue.

Glue rear bearings in place...I use superglue

Check that motor resistor is not touching the body work....bend the wire

Run the chassis and fiddle with pinion position, in or out to suit your noise requirements.

Glue and true the tires.

Scrape the edge of the chassis so it only loosely tocuhes the body.

Fit the body screws but do not screw them all the way home...allow some body float.

You can also brace the motor back to the bearing uprights with piano wire or similar and use a two part epoxy glue to hold the brace in place.

If you are running on a wood track you might also consider an axle tube on the front end although I am not sure there is tubing to suit the odd Ninco axle size.

Have I missed anything?

On the mosler I cut off that tongue under the roof rear vents

Thanks for those tips Munter. The noise is one thing, but the wheel falling off repeatedly, as well as the spur gear slipping have me leaning toward a new rear axle. The axle says for 17" wheels, which makes no sense to me at all. Maybe 17mm?

Heath - the description is confusing - and it is described the same every web shop you look

I SUSPECT that as it also says "large wheels" , that they are the 17mm diameter wheel which is the largest 1/32nd scale wheel NSR make.

You need to measure the OD of the wheels (without tyres) on your porsche at the moment to compare if they are about 17mm

BUT - looking at the pictures of them, they appear to be quite wide, so may be 10mm wide. Measure the wheel width excludig hub/boss of the plastic wheels, and allow for there being about 2mm boss on the NSR wheel, to be sure they will fit under those wheel arches.

Most of the noise on Ninco slot cars is usually from the floppy front axle. It helps to put some heavy weight oil or light grease on the front axle where it snaps into the chassis to quiet it down.

As far as the wheels coming off, clean the end of the axle with some rubbing alcohol, put a drop of super glue on the end of the axle and then slowly twist the wheel back on the axle. This should hold in most cases.

Okay. I took a look at my wheels after super gluing them back on, they still aren't sticking, so axle kit is ordered. I took a wheel measurement and 16mm is pretty close. The ridge is 6mm and the width of the wheel is wider than the NSR wheel by 2mm, so I'm going to have to order new tires, as wobble had suggested.

I'll update when I have swapped it out. I'm going to try some of the changes to make it a little quieter as well.

Thanks for your help.

KK09d is the part number for the Slot.it Ninco anglewinder replacement rear axle assembly kit. The kit includes the pinion and spur gears plus the axle, wheels and bearings. The kit does not include tires and probably the Ninco tires would not fit on Slot.it wheels.

Well, I got the kit and did the replacement...

Everything seem to be lining up well. The wheel inserts I had were too big, so I had to cut them down...

I put some slot.it tires I had sitting around on it, as the Ninco tires rubbed on the body too much.

I'm not sure the slot.it tires will play nicely with the NSR air tire rim set up, but it's worth a shot as I would like to avoid buying more tires for this.

I haven't had a chance to run it yet, but I'm hoping tomorrow I can get the track down.

hi Heath

The NSR air system will work with the slot.it tyres as well.

Usually, I lower the two ribs (by putting the wheel on the razor and using a file) and then add the thunderslot foam inserts.

The tyres sit nicely on a soft surface to give plenty of grip when taking a corner..and they are free to expand at high speed.
