Another option is the SCS Wireless transmitter and receiver. This system is standalone, and does not require a computer like the Throttle-Pro units RikoRocket linked.
Transmitter prices are similar, but with SCS you need a receiver that plugs into the APB. You can get a 6 car unit, or 2 car units. Since the 6 car unit isn't much more, it's usually smarter to get that, even if you only want a couple transmitters to start with.

Excellent, many thanks chaps. In all honesty, the SSDC would suffice my needs. Well, when my track is complete and up and running I think I'll have a couple of those controllers. Really do have a dislike for cables
