I run some of the cars that as X2slotbob would say,”suck the rails out of plastic track” they won’t even run on plastic track without an upgraded power supply

i think everyone should run whatever they like, just like i do. i don't worry about other people's opinions about what i like to do.
the same goes with the way i build my real cars.
Allways do what makes you happy👍. i have hundreds of ho slot cars of all kinds from 1962 to present and lots of different brands .

Okay, who spilled the maple syrop and got this thread all sticky?

Here's what I wanted to say about traction magnets.

I recently received a couple of cars with aftermarket chassis and Lexan bodies.
I was disappointed to find that at 22 volts on my 30 volt variable suppies I could just hold the throttle wide open and watch the cars run. My stock cars are AFX Mega G+ with aftermarket tires, and they DO require you to throttle them to stay on the track.
The new hot cars are equipped with Level 6 magnets which I am told is the lowest power available.
I contacted the chassis guy to see how high I could safely run the voltage for these motors and was told 25 volts.
As soon as the darned weather stops throwing us sub zero temps I will get the propane fired up in the garage and give them a try.

What kind of chsssis do these new cars have? Viper?

Black and silver are probably Dash Black Mamba - Level 10. The strongest available non-neo magnets. The same ones I showed in a Magnatraction hanging upside down in another thread.
Paired with a 6 ohm green arm, they perform very well. I have them in some Magnatraction Specialty chassis for drag racing.

The black and red are Dash Black Widows and are T-Jet sized. They are the step up from the black and yellow Killer Bees.
They also made "Black Mamba" magnets for MT type cars and also made "narrow post" idler gears for MT type cars. They are not making them anymore for some time now. That's why the Level 6 magnet that for MT cars are on sale.

Edit: I was wrong. Black Dragons are TJet magnets, I also found some "HCS AMG Pro-7™ Motor Magnets for Magna-Traction, AW X-Traction, AW 4-Gear" which I think are these.

I like it. Jimmy Flintstone? Got me thinking.

Thanks !
it looks similar to jimmy flintstone's body
but it is from slaters on ebay.
i did a lot of modifying to it.
it had rocker panels for a Tyco chassis that i cut off and i grinded out the windshield that was molded in and i did a lot of grinding under the bed to get it to sit the way i wanted it.
it is on a AW 4 gear chassis.
the ho one is a copy of my real 65 C-10 rat rod.
i am going to paint it just like the ho one after i do a little bodywork on it.
i painted both of them with the same color spray cans.
the real one was black when i bought it.
