Hi Guys; Gordo Bond 007 here again. I am trying to scratch build a model kit into a slot car and I could use some of your collective wisdom and help finding a picture of these car in a RACE LIVERY.
The car that I am trying to build is a FERRARI - 340 AMERICA TOURING BARCHETTA
I can only find 2 pictures of two of these exact cars that the model is based on, and they are both cars that have been restored to concourse Road Cars.
and this one which now that I look at it again is actually a race livery, albeit a rather boring one
(soory picture won't show up)
While the Black Street car is beautiful, I usually prefer my Slot cars to be pdecorated in race liveries, and preferably REAL race liveries where ever possible.
The biggest difference, looks wise, with these particular cars is the body colored piece right below the windshield.
Most of the other Ferrari's from this era that had a similar body shape, had the windshield go right down to the body work and followed the curve of the bonnet.
I have been scouring the INTERNET for weeks trying to find other pictures of this car in a racing livery with no success.
I believe the cars ran in the 1951 Milli Miglia and possibly even the 1951 - 24hrs of LeMans.
So I have come to you fine folks to see if anyone has a photo in a book or magazine etc. that may have a picture of this car in a race livery.
Thanks in advance for any hints, tips or leads that you may have for me.
