A very hot day at Zwartkops this last Saturday, with some great racing and a large contingent of David Piper cars (and the man himself). Some of the more exotic - a Ferrari P1 (1963), a Ferrari P2/3 (1965) he shared with Richard Attwood, and a Porsche 917 (1970).
An interesting entry was the McLaren M8F (1971) with a most amazing set of trumpets crowning an 8 (yes, eight) litre V8. It won the second heat of the pre-1972 ISP race, a Lola T70 (1970) winning the first. Also in the mix was a very pretty Alfa T33 (1972).
Cobras, GT40s, Aston Martin DB4 (1960), and a superb Austin Healey (1965), but my car of the day - a toss-up between the huge Ford Galaxie (1963) driven by Sarel van der Merwe and a well prepared Lotus Cortina (1964) who both slid round every corner of the track!
Anyway, enjoy these photographs, many more in my Gallery.
