Vanwall are to unveil and launch a new racing car for both road and track. The first new design for Vanwall for over forty five years will have the wraps taken off on Friday 25th February, the first morning of the 2nd International Historic Motorsport Show, Stoneleigh Park, Coventry.

The new Vanwall GPR V12 is a high performance, lightweight, aluminium bodied single seat racing car which is craftsman built. The unique design combines many influences from cars of the 1950's Formula One era. Powered by a 6.0 litre V12 engine and weighing less than a ton, the car is said to have truly breathtaking performance.

Nice looking car, but i expect that it will go the same way as the INVICTA S1 which was unveiled at the NEC a couple of years ago. Again, re-using a classic British name, and re-using a British shape; it was quite like the DB7/9 etc...

In that it will disappear due to a lack of funds and high exclusivity.

i hope i am wring though, not that i could ever afford one.

And it really doesn' look any better in real life.

Went to the Historic Motorsport show yesterday, what a superb show, a lot better then last year. But back to the Vanwall. Couldn't get a clean shot of the car, but the rear end is worse then the front, but the mudguards with fake tyre tread on them made me laugh!!
