It was a boisterous 24 on the grid tonight with a real end of term atmosphere. We welcomed Andy, Richard and Liam for their first races at the Barn, in preparation (we hope) for a very good 2016 Rookie of the Year battle.
It was a challenging and enjoyable track, where you could push but had to remember where to be careful...
It was certainly a competitive night, with a lot of of interest in Andrew's trusty scoreboard...
The heats scores were like this:
And the finals like this:
Stephen was devastated to miss out on the step-up to the A final - so he had to wait and hope that Ned would slip up...
But it didn't happen. Ned won the race and both medals (the third junior to do so this autumn)...
With Stephen missing out on the A final, Ned has already clinched the Junior Club Championship. But by winning the race, Ned pipped Stephen to the Junior F1 title by just 20 points. A superb championship-winning performance by Ned and WHO-best performances by Keith (second) and Daniel (third).
Well done to our 2015 F1 champions Mike, Tony (F1 Classic Cup) and Ned (Junior F1):
Really tough for Stephen at the end of a brilliant final season as a junior. He's more than capable of challenging for race wins and championships as a grown-up in years to come... Maybe even next year?
