New track layout for the kids

Hi all
I've been trying for a while now to design a layout that gives me a mix of speed and skill. But also a layout that my 2 girls can drive round without de-slotting all the time.
After numerous different designs I have finally come up with this one. Both girls can drive round the track very well.(lap times -10sec) But do de-slot on the corner after the chicane when not concentrating.

The track length is 15.94M on both lanes. My best lap time so far is 7.6 seconds with my ford gt.

Oh no mags allowed The girls/me like to tail slide

Any thoughts or improvement advice welcomed

( I have just bought the extra track boarders that I need to do all the corners inside and out and exits)

It just fits the room.

This is another track I designed for the room but need to get 8 more straights to be able to make this 1.

Both lanes are 18.56m

Both nice layouts, like number 1 the best.
Rug racing is the way to go with kids.

I would rather get som r3, r4 curves and mix them up with all the R2's that you have allready got, than getting additional straights.

Cheers

Looks like a lot of fun, two power supplies = good thinking, does the lapcounter accept counting cars going counter-clockwise for him ?
Please stick to the tough series (Ferrari/Porsche/Lambo/...) to avoid damage to the cars, even on the carpet, since you're using the sports-crossovers as well as the narrowed track. In time you'll throw these out of the layout, unless the idea is to create inavoidable accidents for fun.
There is some good balance as you have about half the track that can be run at high speed and then the reste si a hasardous adventure ...
Have fun!

hi
good to to see the family all getting involved,I think your two girls have a talent for the slot racing if they can stay on your technical infeild section.

As already mentioned a mix of different radii bends makes a whole difference to the feel of a layout,i have had mine close to 4 years and only this year did i go for some differing radii, wish i had done it a whole lot sooner.

Thanks for your comments all.

It doesn't look like easy layouts to drive.
Thanks DK

They both love it PSRRFH. Especially after I detailed their own cars for them. 1 with Tinker bell details the other Hello Kitty

I would have mixed the corners up a bit more but really wanted the open R3 at the end of the straight.

Would love to get some more r3 and get hold of some r4s. But R4's are hard to come buy on fleabay though. So far I have 6 r1's and 6 r3's and loads of r2's
Will keep on watch the bay for more Rads

No point running with 1 ps when you can have 2.

I also have 2 spares just in case. Yes the lapcounter does run both ways

. We do have 4 porsche's but they need some attention to the running gear after a kids party

I would like to get rid of the crossover/chicane/crash zones but both girls have been taught that if there is a crash on track to stop before it.
An to look out for cars on the cross overs and chicane

Especially when running the high detail cars.
But when the Porsche's come out to play all hell breaks loose.

They love to watch BTCC with me but they mainly watch it for the crashes. KIDS

The thing I like about layout #2 is that (assuming you like to get sideways) those straight sections between the 180-degree curves will help the car drift all the way around. Too many curves right on top of each other confuses the car's physics a bit. Still, a driving challenge is a driving challenge!!!
