This sure is interesting. There's also part of the chassis that sits under the front wing, so just maybe it'll give some protection to those delicate bits.
I might have to change the drivers head (or maybe the entire driver)... He looks a but small, but we will see.

If NSR don't supply decals, I can see the likes of Pattos etc doing well out of this too.

Bring 'em on!

I hope that they go for the 17K baby king with this one otherwise it will be a handful in my opinion.

To be honest I like that this is a generic standard class: all the cars will have the same characteristics, we just need to use different liveries inspired by the period to differentiate on the track. This is going to be our first digital F1 class in Auckland.

I believe that patto's already has several decals sheets for the period.

This will be a great addition to NSR and for those of us who love the F1 class and era. It may cause others already in the class to up their performance game.
I agree with Gio that the Baby King would be a great motor for these cars.
Time will tell and I will yet anger my accountant .
Good post BTW

I was excited to read about these and think they'll make a great class. The excitement waned substantially when I read that they're a generic shape, but I still think they'll prove popular and I expect I'll buy at least one.

Personally I'd like them to come with a King Evo 25K so that they're the handful that Grunz doesn't want, because in my view F1 cars are meant to be a handful, but either way it's a very interesting development in slot-world.

Well these types of things all start somewhere.
NSR make quality products and I would expect this to be no different.
The options available from NSR in Motors, Gears, wheels and tires etc give a huge amount of Flexibility.
As NSR do with other models, they creat different colors, a white kit , then some predecorated ones. Being generic isnt all bad as Artin discovered when ot came out with its line Non Nascar Nascars.
No special fees paid for licence and the cars could be made to resemble your favourite . I suspect the same with NSR.
Some good things about generic make it good for class races and allowable variables.
Dont forget NSR and the ASMR. Not an Aston Martin. But close enough for me and many liveries.
With Carrera holding the rights to Ferrari just think of the generic red cars. Many of the skilled modelling members on this forum can turn a brick i to a race car, so I can see a future challenge for them in thos car. There really isnt a downside IMHO.
Its another Quality Slot Car coming to town.
And if its not up your alley, dont buy it. I do suspect it will be popular though.
Kudos NSR

Hmmm... well... maybe.

I'm not breathless about NSRs at the best of times, and while I'm happy to tinker with old RTR cars to make them more like the cars that I like (Williams FW07 has so many copycats that are fun to make), but much prefer proper models. A sort-of Ferrari F187 with a midget in the cockpit seems a bit of a half job.

Well, if you're interested in this get that money out of ya piggy-banks. I've just been informed that they are trying their best for a Christmas release. If not certainly January.

My Christmas list has just been updated

Now to choose a colour scheme that no-one else will think of...

With "All Slot" getting harder and harder to find, I did wonder when another manufacturer would step up to the mark grab some of this market.
This is a big departure for NSR though and I do wonder how it will compare with the AllSlotCar F1
That 5 point motor pod looks interesting. I wonder if it will float as well as ThunderSlot's 5 point pod?

Many clubs don't run an open wheel class.
Maybe this release from a manufacturer better known for is GT cars will persuade some clubs to go in that direction.
For those clubs that do run a long can inline open wheel class, this will be a good new weapon and also possibly ready for 2020!

The pod design looks like it will handle a King 25 without any issues at all.
Open wheel racing should be scary

F1 Open Wheel class is fast and furious. My NSR F1 side by side against Scalextric's Mercedes Gt3 ghost car set at max speed, I won by 3 laps on a 50 lap race on our Pro Arc track (digital). Just drive it like HO race class and don't derail if possible.

Perhaps with a bit of artistic licence you could make an early 1990s F3000 out of it. It's very like the old Lola around the haunches. Plenty of interesting liveries and drivers to choose from as well.

To be honest that's potentially of more interest to me than an F1 car that isn't.

On balance, though, it's just not quite enough of anything to be of great interest. There are lots of strong classes for lovely cars, I just don't see the need for a generic blob.
