Been after a Slot It Mazda 787B for a while, and I recently found one at an acceptable price, near mint, boxed, even had the extra flexible wing and spare tyres still in the box! Very pleased to say the least. Handles great out of the box, as you'd expect from a Slot It group c car; but (as has been regularly discussed in the past), the rear wing is sooooo fragile.
I've already broken the support on one side (and that isn't from crashing, just from a lean on a barrier - an unavoidable occurrence on my twisty narrow track). Yes, I could swap it for the basic flexible one, but it looks nowhere near as nice, and the original is glued in, so I'd likely do more damage just by removing it. Not only that, but the flexible one is still mounted to a very flimsy body part so I can't see that lasting long either...

I'm not one for shelf queens, and as pretty as this is, it's meant to race. So I'm trying to think of a solution.
I want to keep the wing but it needs reinforcement, so I made this piece:

The plan is to basically glue it between the wing and the body, and generally make the wing much more solid. Yes, even though it's clear, it's still quite noticeable; but at a glance it's quite subtle and far less of an eyesore than the basic spare wing.

Just wondering if anyone had come up with a better solution before I glue this in place...
