wow, i shall now put every Electra i have under a light shade and use them as night lights!

You don't get light through a normal one. Only ever seen 2 of these, not enough for a lightshade!

The tiger is the same shade as a normal electra, there are some slight variations, but the translucent one you can see the internal structure and even the motor through the plastic!

It's simply a case of the moulding matarial running out/low in the hopper, the colours are added into the normal white granules by weight, the coloured granules are very expensive compared to the white.

can't remember mix ratio it's been 25 plus years since I was in the industry but basically it's about to run out, next ones out would of been shorts eventually.

So translucent one is basically a dud, now who thinks it's rare and worth more money

but its not white underneath, so just a light shade of orange, its actually clear....

Actually all the mould test pieces go for a shed load of dosh, but mine is already tucked up nicely in a warm and friendly home where it will adored and admired for the rest of its life

The lime one did make a catalogue appearance tbh, prob without digging them all out the 1970 or 1971 issue

not for me, I just look at how many new cars I could buy for that kind of money, but if your a collector and it's the last item on your list

If it goes for around 4-5 grand I wouldn't be surprised
